Trends 2014 – Cayenne

1. Bridesmaid Dresses 2. Sabina – for The Ink Nest 3. Wedding paper Divas 4. Shoes 5. Flowers

The next color we are focusing on from Pantone’s Fashion Spring 2014 Color Report is Cayenne. Pantone defines Cayenne as “a high-pitched red, that adds a dash of spicy heat to neutrals.” It’s bold, warm, romantic and makes a strong statement.

Cayenne adds instant warmth and cheerfulness when used in fashion, design or interiors. It pairs well with similar hues such as orange or peach, but also adds a bit of whimsy if paired with a minty green.

Cayenne is not for the timid. Now tell me, are you bold enough to use it?

Trends 2014 – Black and White. Free Chalkboard Texture

The next trend color that will always be in style, is Black and White. It’s chic, simple, bold and will continue trending in the wedding invitation world in 2014. Chalkboard invitations are popular right now as well as pairing black and white with the color gold. Stationery with simple black accents is very modern and feminine but can also add a touch of whimsy, such as the case with image #3. Black and White is also trending in the fashion this fall as well. Using black to decorate your home is becoming increasingly popular. Black in patterns for home decor makes for a good starting point for any interior design scheme. Bold and art deco fonts pair well with this color combo. From packaging to stationery accessories, Black is classic and clean. Make a statement with Black and White!

Inspiration Corner – Artcadia

Artcadia is a stationery and design studio based in Shrewsbury, UK created by designer Vici-Jane Kohring and her husband Richard Kohring. This talented couple creates high quality wedding invitations and branding designs.

Aside from their regular shop, they recently opened a Christmas pop-up shop – what a great idea! I was surprised and delighted by the combination of my Geometric Birds with the Winter Foliage set. I wouldn’t imagine these two sets can be matched so well.

I also spotted some of the Blog Elements by Rebekka on their luxe magnets.

I am really impressed with the taste level and creativity of the Artcadia duo. If you are looking to buy some great stationery and other pretty designs with our images, visit their website!

Inspiration Corner – Elli

Elli is a boutique design studio based in Portland, Oregon. They create high quality stationery and greeting cards.

I was happy to spot one of my sets used in their recent greeting cards – the Winter Foliage. It is astonishing how many designs they have created, using this one set alone. Great team of designers! I must say, this is my favourite way of having our graphics implemented – to see them used in a creative, interesting way – changed colours, drawings arranged with imagination.
