Illustrator, Surface Designer

I’m Lucy an illustrator and surface designer living and working in the UK.

My background’s in fine art and I studied at Central St. Martin’s in London. Nowadays I’m most happy equipped with a micro pen, a blank sheet of paper and a scanner. I love bright colours and simple shapes, but I also love to look at and draw the tiny detail in things.

Living in a big city there’s inspiration all around – from the hustle and bustle of the streets to the tranquillity of museums and secondhand bookshops. When I’m not in the city I’m usually outdoors climbing rocks or studying the wildlife, which is another great source of inspiration for me.

Some time ago I found myself increasingly attracted to digital designs with a hand-drawn look. I think using mixed media (bringing paper drawings to the digital environment) is brilliant. Since I could not find such graphics for my own projects, started to draw them myself.

I am the founder of The Ink Nest. It started as a small shop on Etsy and has grown beyond my expectations.

I design websites, logos, banners at Design Garden.

Designer, Illustrator

My name is Rhian, and I am a graphic designer and illustrator.

I started drawing at a very young age. My love for drawing and illustration led me to a master's degree in art and graphic design. I worked in the corporate world and also at a DC think tank as a graphic designer before I started my own business in 2009. I love what I do now, and it does not really feel like work.

I seek inspiration from all things around me, like vintage photographs, impressionist paintings, and nature scenes. I also like to bring fresh and unique color combinations to add a personal touch to my designs.

I currently live in Baltimore with my daughter, husband, cat and dog. When I am not working, I spend my spare time reading art and history books, cooking, playing the piano, and taking long walks with my husband and daughter.

You can contact me through my email reani.art [at] gmail.com or simply find me here: www.reani.etsy.com
